Hugh Baird College nine-month programme
Your EDGE is thrilled to be working with students from Hugh Baird College on a nine-month programme that will develop people’s ability to plan, deliver and evaluate large events. Participants have been developing their understanding of Safeguarding, Health & Safety and First Aid in order to develop an event that will help to promote the services the college have to offer. Key to this programme is supporting students to work together in a forum that directly mimics the work place, supporting their preparation to enter the employment market.
Continuing our work with Alsop High School
Your EDGE is proud to continue to provide services to Alsop High School, this time enhancing the schools Duke of Edinburgh programme. Young people are able to participate in a programme that prepares them to take up volunteering placements required to complete the award. The programme will take place over a three-month period and include Teambuilding sessions, First Aid, Professionalism and Communication. The sessions so far have been a real pleasure to be part of and the young people are a credit to the school, their community and themselves.
Sports Alive training programme
Over the last twelve-months Your EDGE has worked closely with the staff at Sports Alive to develop a programme of training that supports their ability to meet the needs of the communities they serve. The programme will include foundation knowledge courses such as First Aid, Health & Safety, and Safeguarding. The second tier of the programme will be skill based and include short courses with sports coaching, arts, and behaviour management content. We are really excited to see the impact our input will have on the communities Sports Alive aim to support.
